A Deadication
Every now and again some one walks into your life and inspires creation.
I was just so lucky to have two lovely ladies do just that for me. These friendships sparked in me the need to share my passions. These two women (they come in a pair), even though as different as water and sky, are smart, savvy, graceful, outspoken, avant-guard, and truly stylish. They are the best kind of women, the ones that inhabit who they are in every moment. That power spills and radiates out to others. Through their being, they confirmed and enforced my own artist vision and voice. My perspective is not only unique but valuable. I was held back from sharing my ideas before as I feel/felt that the blogo-spear is over saturated with the mundane details of narcissistic lives. I cannot deny that to share in this way you have to feel slightly self-important. However, I’m spinning this idea to be one about giving/sharing. I think of these women and many others as I paint, make, shop, flip fashion mags, find great design blogs, sip my favorite cocktails, read a true litaray novels. I want to show them my thoughts of them filtering through my own vision. I wanted to create a record of all that is inspired by the ideas of those we love. So this blog exist. It is not a literal translation of my admiration but in an magical indirect way they inspired it!
Thank you Maddie and Emma

Fashion and Screen #1
If you are a “W” reader you know that every month they do a behind the scense shoot for the next screen hit. This one last spring, behind the scenes of “Mildrid Perice” with Kate Winslet as the star, really gives credit to the masterpiece of that the HBO mini-series. From the setts, lighting, performances, and the fashion it preserved the time and place of California glamor. Mothers and Daughters every where were moved by the story and longed for silky 1940’s garments.

Fashion Light and Palate #2
These image are a great example of photographic lighting used to enhance fashion. The soft light makes these more neutral subdued color palates really come to life in a glamorous way.

Fashion Light and Palate #1
Overall I am a fan of Marc Jacob, because he is a fan of Art. The artist side of the brand really shows through in all of his marketing campaigns: recognizable, quirky, well lit and photographed from interesting perspectives. I have had many favorite Marc Jacob adds over the years. This particular series I like for the lighting and the palate. the youthful grunge look is great as well.
Here is a link to another great blog “Color Collective” . This blog inspires from a design perspective. it breaks down the color palates of interesting images, most from fashion, so you learn about color combinations in a whole new way.

Bijoux #1
All of my jewelry images are selected as a reference to use when I’m making my own. High fashion jewelery gives me guidance and inspiration. These are some of the styles I’ve come back to on more than one occasion.
